Moves like Swords Dance, Intimidate and Icy Wind move a stat up or down in stages, from −6 to +6. Each stage is a fixed fraction of the original stat — here is the exact multiplier for every stage.
| Stage | Multiplier | % of stat |
|---|---|---|
| +6 | ×4 | 400% |
| +5 | ×3.5 | 350% |
| +4 | ×3 | 300% |
| +3 | ×2.5 | 250% |
| +2 | ×2 | 200% |
| +1 | ×1.5 | 150% |
| 0 | ×1 | 100% |
| -1 | ×0.67 | 67% |
| -2 | ×0.5 | 50% |
| -3 | ×0.4 | 40% |
| -4 | ×0.33 | 33% |
| -5 | ×0.29 | 29% |
| -6 | ×0.25 | 25% |
Positive stages: (2 + stage) / 2 — so +1 = ×1.5, +2 = ×2, +6 = ×4. Negative stages: 2 / (2 − stage) — so −1 = ×0.67, −2 = ×0.5, −6 = ×0.25. Boosts multiply the stat itself, before items and other effects.
